Christians in Schools couldn’t exist without the faithful voluntary work of its trustees. They give up their free time to paddle furiously under the water so that the CiST swan can glide calmly and smoothly on the surface!
Our current Trustees are:

I have been a CIST member since mid 2015 and I have been involved in supporting schools for longer than I dare remember! I started the schools work in the Heatons which has been very fruitful and that CIST is now a partner of. I worship at Heaton Mersey Methodist, and I am currently the Chairman of the Trustees.
I have been a Trustee with CiST since the Trust began in 1993, making me the longest serving Trustee! In the past I have been a Head teacher of two church schools in Stockport and then a School Consultant for Chester Diocese. My place of worship is Goostrey Methodist Chapel.
Janet Ford (Secondary Schools Co-ordinator)
I have been a supporter of CiST since moving to Stockport in 1993. I joined as a Trustee over 20 years ago! I am a member of St Chad’s, Romiley, and run the New Wine Discipleship Year. I was Head of RE at Offerton High School unitl in closed in 2012. I am a member of SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) and was involved in writing 3 Stockport RS syllabus’. I have personally benefited from the work of CiST; whilst at Offerton CiST provided the school with lessons and clubs. In semi-retirement I go into school with CiST workers to help with lessons and I am always impressed by what I see.
I am a retired teacher with 30+ years of service in Stockport primary schools; I have experienced the role of SENCO and at different times I have been a parent and teacher governor; I am a deacon and part of the children’s and young people’s work at Stockport Baptist Church where I have been worshipping for over 30 years. I have helped to set up the partnership between Stockport Baptist Church and St Matthew’s Church, Edgeley, under the title ‘Youth on the Edge’ and we work together to provide activities over the school holidays for children and families as well as giving presentations for local schools at Christmas and Easter. I have support CiST work financially and in prayer since its inception in 1993 and joined the team as a Trustee at the beginning of 2016.
