Aim

To become familiar with the story of Josiah
To consider the importance of dedication within one's own life

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about the building of Solomon's Temple. About five hundred years after Solomon, the Temple was not the same admired building that it had once been. But, a new king called Josiah, was going to put things right.

Share with children the story of Josiah.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

  • continue their Temple timeline.
  • write / talk about what they would do if they were king.
  • re-dedicate themselves to a cause / a routine that they have neglected.
  • find out what happened to Josiah.
