To know that the Bible has had a profound effect on the lives of many individuals and societies.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous week about May Li and her Bible. In China, children are not allowed to read the Bible because it might change them and then they might want to change the country. There is a very famous story about a person who was changed by reading the Bible. His name was John Adams.

Share with children the story of John Adams and the Bounty Bible.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• talk / write about a change that has occured in them.
• interview a Christian about reading the Bible.
• talk about how they would like people to treat each other in their class.
• decorate the Biblical verse, 'Treat others as you want to be treated.'
• find Pitcairn and Tahiti on a map.
