Aim
To know that many contemporary Christians risk their lives in order to read the Bible
Lesson
Begin by revising the story of Mary Jones and her Bible. Inform the children that in some countries it is against the law for children to read the Bible. One of these countries is China. But many brave people secretly visit Christians in China to give them Bibles. One of these people was a man called Johnny.
Share with children the story of May Li's Bible.
Activity
Following discussion, groups of children could:
- talk / write about a rule which they think is unfair.
- find China on a map of the world.
- look at a children's version of the Bible.
- copy some Chinese script.
