To recognize the Bible as a special book for Christians

Lesson

Begin by informing children that this half term they are going to be learning about the importance of the Bible for Christians. Give the children an opportunity to tell you what they already know about the Bible.

Following discussion, inform the children that the Bible is a special book for Christians. Many Christians think of the Bible as a letter from God, containing His message to the world.

Activity

During the week, groups of children could:

• interview a Christian about why the Bible is special.
• organize a collection of different Bibles.
• record what they already know about the Bible.
• as God, write a letter to the world.
• talk about a book which is special for them.
