Lesson

Begin by informing the children that this half-term they are going to be thinking about people who help them. Make a list of people who help them.

The people who most help the children are their parents. How do their parents help them?

Some people believe God is like their parent. The Lord‘s Prayer begin with the words ”Our Father•. How is God like a parent? The Bible also talks about God as a good mother. In the Bible, God says to the people who love Him,

'I will not forget you.
You are always in my mind.
As a mother comforts her child,
So I will comfort you'.

(From the Book of Isaiah)

What are the children‘s opinions of God? Children could record their thoughts in a variety of ways.
