God Speaks |
|---|---|
AimTo promote self esteem. To help children understand the belief that prayer is a two-way conversation. Before the lesson prepare the call of Samuel (1 Samuel 3:1-18). LessonBegin lesson by asking children to define prayer. What is it? Who can do it? Do you always get what you ask for? If prayer is talking to God, does He ever talk back? Discuss, before continuing the story from the previous lesson. Have any of the children ever heard the voice of God? Christians believe that God speaks to people all of the time. Most of the time, He doesn't use words. He makes things happen. But, when He does use words, He is less likely to speak directly to someone, preferring instead to speak through other people. God told Samuel that He was not pleased with Eli. What do the children think God would say about them? If they were God, what would they say about someone else within their class? Invite the children to record their responses in an appropriate manner. |
