My Face |
|---|---|
AimTo consider own uniqueness LessonRevise what was taught in the previous week about names. Although two people might have the same name, no two people have the same face, not even identical twins. Show children a range of different faces. Ask them to describe each face. With the help of a mirror, invite the children to explore their own faces. What do they notice? Invite children to create a self portrait, which they can share with the rest of the class. In the Bible, there is a story about a man called Moses whose face once shone like the sun. Moses was the leader of his people and a friend of God. The Bible says that once, on the top of a mountain, he spoke to God face to face for forty days. It was after he had spoken to God, that Moses' face shone. When Moses came down from the mountain, to tell his people what God had said, they were all frightened and ran away from him. So, Moses had to wear a veil. But whenever he went back up the mountain again to speak to God, he took the veil off. Discuss the story with the children. What do they think it means? How can the children make their own faces shine? |
