Begin by revising what the children have so far learned about Jews beliefs about God. He is One. He is the Creator. He cares for people. He deserves to be thanked. He is like a shepherd.

Jewish people also believe that God is good.

A long time ago, another Jewish writer wrote a very joyful song which includes all of these beliefs.

Share with children the words of Psalm 100.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write about what makes them joyful.
• compose some joyful music to accompany the Psalm.
• listen to traditional Jewish music.
