Begin by informing children that this half-term they are going to be exploring what Jewish people believe about God. Their most important belief is that God is One.

Jews believe that the first person to realize this was Abraham.

Share with children the story of Abraham, the Sun, the Moon and God.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• express their own beliefs about God.
• find out more about the sun and the moon to understand why some people might have worshipped them as God.
• explore the story through dance.
• sequence the story.
