Begin by revising what was taught about the Shahadah in the previous lesson. Inform children that the words of the Shahadah are included in a type of song which is special to Muslims. Play them a recording of the Islamic call to prayer. What are their responses to it?

Inform them of the song's purpose. What do they know about the Islamic practice of prayer. If possible, show images of Muslims praying. Allow pupils to try out some of the positions. What do they think Muslims are attempting to communicate in their practice of prayer? (Submission to God - Islam)

Conclude lesson by sharing with children the story of the servant Bilal and the first call to prayer.
