Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Ramadan. Remind children that the end of the Ramadan is marked by a three day festival called Id-ul-Fitr, or little Id.

Use text, images and artefacts to inform children about Id-ul-Fitr.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

  • find out the dates of Id-ul-Fitr for the next five years.
  • write about their favourite festival.
  • interview a Muslim visitor about Id-ul-Fitr.
  • write about eating after a long period of hunger.
  • write about what brings them 'recurring happiness'.
