Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Id-ul-Adha. Little Id is also known as Id-ul-Fitr, and marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.

Use text and images to introduce/revise Ramadan.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write about a time when they went without food.
• find out about fasting in other religions.
• interview a Muslim about his / her experience of Ramadan.
