Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught during the previous lesson about the story of Ibrahim and Ishmael. Remind children that this is the story which is remembered during the festival of Id-ul-Adha.

Use text and images to inform children about how Id-ul-Adha is celebrated by Muslims.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

  • find out more about Hajj.
  • write about personal sacrifices which they have made.
  • think about the theme of sacrifice in other religions.
  • interview a Muslim visitor about Id-ul-Adhan.
