To begin to appreciate the differences between the four gospels.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Ezekiel. Inform the children that the last type of book, which they will be studying, is also the most important for Christians. This book is known as a gospel and was written to tell people about Jesus.

Use text and symbols to inform children about each of the Gospels.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write about their favourite gospel story.
• contribute towards a Good News Notice board.
• interview a Christian about the good news of Christmas.
• read the Gospel Nativity story of the angels appearing to the shepherds. (Luke 2:8-21)
