Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about the David's Psalms. David had a son called Solomon, who became king after David died. Solomon is considered to be the wisest man who ever lived. His wise sayings are contained in a book of the Bible called Proverbs.

Share with children the selection of Proverbs.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write some proverbs of their own.
• choose their own selection of proverbs from the Bible.
• list and explain some modern day proverbs.
• devise a short sketch using a proverbs as a moral.
• find out more about Solomon.
