Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Ascension Day. At His Ascension, Jesus told His followers to return to Jerusalem and wait there, because God was going to send them the Holy Spirit. Ten days later, Jesus' promise came true.

Share with children the story of Pentecost (Acts 2).

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• talk / write about the most amazing experience of their lives.
• talk / write about who helps them. (The Holy Spirit is also known by Christians as The Helper.) - prepare a short talk on a subject of their choice to be delivered in front of the whole class.
• find out how Pentecost is celebrated by Christians.
• look at images of Pentecost.
• find out about the Jewish festival of Pentecost - Shavuot.
