Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about the Road to Emmaus. Remind the children of the current position in the Church Year - between Easter Sunday and Ascension Day. The three days leading up to Ascension Day are called Rogation Days. The word rogation comes from a Latin word which means 'to ask'. On Rogation Days, Christians ask for God's blessing on their houses, their towns, their crops, their animals, etc.

In many places across the globe, groups of Christians do this while on a walk through their local communities.

Activity

Invite the children to plan a similar walk around the school / local area.
