³⁵ Early the next morning, Jesus woke and left the house while it was still dark. He went to a place to be alone and pray.

³⁶ Later, Simon and his friends went to look for Jesus.

³⁷ They found him and said, "Everyone is looking for you!"

¹² At that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray. He stayed there all night praying to God.

¹³ The next morning, Jesus called his followers to him. He chose twelve of them, whom he named "apostles".

(Luke 6:12-13)

⁴¹ Then Jesus went about a stone's throw away from them. He kneeled down and prayed,

⁴² "Father if it is what you want, then let me not have this cup of suffering. But do what you want, not what I want."

⁴³ Then an angel appeared to him to help him.

⁴⁴ Jesus was full of pain; he prayed even more. Sweat dripped from his face as if he was bleeding.
