Much of the work in this topic is taken from the book NEW METHODS IN R.E. TEACHING An Experiential Approach. I believe it to be a book of great importance to those involved in teaching R.E. and besides including an abundance of very readable articles on all the main issues, is also full of many practical lesson ideas.
Bolton's Multicultural Resource Centre produces an excellent Guide to Hinduism, which will help many teachers become better informed on the subject. The guide costs £8.99 and can be ordered by phoning 01204-366 868.
Teachers of Year 6 classes may wish to use the work covered in this topic as a basis for their Leavers' Assembly.
In common with most other topics, the work undertaken here would be greatly enhanced by a visit to the school by a representative from the appropriate faith community.
