Lesson

Begin with a warm up.

Review work which was done in the previous lesson.

Share with children again the illustrated set of the Stations. Draw their attention to the postures of the characters depicted.

In groups, children are to recreate as frozen tableaux two or more consecutive Stations.

Invite groups to share work with the rest of the class. Following reflection and re-working, ask children to devise appropriate movements which link their tableaux.

Allow a number of groups to share their work with the rest of the class. As accompaniment, use an appropriate section from one of the following:

• Bach's St. Matthew's Passion or St. John's Passion
• Handel's Messiah
• Stainer's Crucifixion
• Marie Keyroux's Chant Byzantin. Passion et Resurrection
