The Worldwide Church |
|---|---|
AimTo begin to appreciate the world wide dimensions of the Church. LessonBegin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about the spread of Christianity and the story of Augustine. Nowadays, there are Christian churches in every country in the world. Over the next couple of weeks, the children will be finding out about the Christian church in different countries. You can use the material from God's Everywhere People to inform the children about the church in Sudan and/or Nepal. Alternatively, you could set the children the task of finding out about the Christian church in a different country of their own choice. ConclusionConclude this work by telling the children that although there are churches in different countries throughout the world, many Christians believe that they all belong to one Church. Teachers' NotesThe information and activities relating to the Church in Sudan and Nepal are taken from God's Everywhere People. This excellent resource can be purchased from the Church Mission Society (Telephone: 020-7928 8681). The price is £5. CMS produce other reasonably priced material for teaching about the Worldwide Church. In addition, the Society employs local area co-ordinators and representatives throughout England and Wales, some of whom are willing to visit schools. |
