To explore the image of Jesus as the Lamb.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson. Inform the children that another of the connections between Pesach and Easter, which is important for Christians is that between Jesus and the lambs which were killed and eaten by the Jews on the night before they escaped from Egypt.

From the earliest days of their religion to the present day, Christians have made this connection. In prayers, hymns and writings about Jesus, He is called the Lamb.

Share with the children the references to Jesus as the lamb.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• look and comment upon the Lamb symbol
• list all the other titles of Jesus which they know
• choose and write about animals which best symbolize them.
