To explore Jesus' re-interpretation of the Seder meal.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson. Another of the connections between the Pesach and Easter is that between the seder meal and the Last Supper.

Share with children the story of the Last Supper. Discuss how Jesus 're-interpreted' the symbolism of the bread and the wine.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• read about the Afikomen and the Cup of Freedom.
• find out about how the Last Supper is remembered by Christians today.
