Aim

To explore Jesus' teaching on forgiveness.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Jesus' teaching on forgiveness. Inform children that, like the Jewish teachers of his time and today, Jesus taught his followers that they could and should forgive those who have wronged them personally.

Share with the children the parable of The Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:21-35).

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• role play the parable.
• discuss the 'seventy times seven' principle.
• talk / write about a time they were forgiven.
