Jo

There's lots going on ...

People in the UK and Ireland are a big part of Christian Aid. This is Jo, a Christian Aid volunteer.

Why I help

'I am a Christian and believe that Jesus always cared for poor people. The Bible is full of stories which show us this. Jesus gave Christians two great commandments: to love God and to love our neighbours. I see our neighbours as all our brothers and sisters around the world. That is why I support Christian Aid.'

Collections

Raising money

This is very important to Christian Aid. Most of our money comes from people who go to church. Every year for a week in May, supporters go up and down the streets, collecting for Christian Aid. Hundreds of schools and churches raise money and learn a lot.

Sharing the facts!

We think it's important to tell people why families around the world are poor. Special volunteers like Jo visit schools to help children like you learn about Christian Aid.

For you to think about

  • What would your ideal world be like?
  • Would Christian Aid still be in it?
