Creation in Reverse |
|---|---|
On the eighth day, man looked around at everything God had made and said, "This is good. This is all mine." And man saw all the plants which grew on the Earth. Some which make grain for seeds and trees which make fruit. So man made saws and axes and weed killers. And man chopped down the trees and killed the plants. And man said, "This is not good. We have no plants nor fruit to eat." And that was the eighth day. Then man saw that God had filled the Earth with animals of every kind. So man made guns and traps and fishing rods and nets. He killed all the animals and fished out the seas. And man said, "This is not good. We have no animals nor fish nor birds to eat." And that was the ninth day. Then man saw all the water which God had made. He saw the water under the sky and the water above the sky. So man made factories which poisoned the waters. Both the water under the sky and the water above the sky was poison. And man said, "This is not good. We have nothing to drink." And that was the tenth day. Then man breathed deeply the air which God had made. The air which God had made had been good, but man had made it bad with his factories and his cars and his gases. And man said, "This is not good. We cannot breathe." And man was no more.. And that was the eleventh day. So on the twelfth day, the Earth rested from all the work of man. |
