Jesus' Resurrection |

Shabbat had passed since Jesus had been crucified. The next day's dawn was not far off. Some women who had been followers of Jesus came sadly to pray at the place where He had been buried. In the half-light, they could hardly believe their eyes. The tomb was open. The body of Jesus was gone. And then they saw bright shining figures - angels telling them amazing news. 'Jesus is not here. He is risen!' In the days that followed, more and more people saw Jesus alive again. The terrible wrong done to Jesus had been beaten. Jesus himself came and explained that His new life showed that all the power of wrongdoing was beaten for ever. Jesus told his friends to take the news to the whole world: 'Go to all peoples everywhere, and make them my followers. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. ![]() |
