The Messiah |
|---|---|
Jewish people do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Three times, every day, many Jewish people say a special prayer for the coming of the Messiah. They believe that the Messiah will be a human being, from the family of King David, who ruled Israel thousands of years ago. The Messiah will know the Torah and follow all God's commandments. He will be a great leader, who will win battles for Israel. He will also be a judge, who will always make the right decisions. When the Messiah comes, all Jewish people from around the world will return to Israel and obey all God's commandments. With the Messiah as their king, the Jews will rule Israel. The Temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt and people from all over the world will come to pray there. They will give up following their gods and worship the God of Israel. Peace will spread throughout the whole world and everyone in it will have enough to eat. |
