Amongst those mitzvot (commandments) set out in the Torah, the
Jewish people are commanded:
- to respect your mother and father
- to keep one day a week holy for God
- not to follow other gods
- to harvest in a way which leaves food for poor people
- not to wear a tattoo
- to love your neighbour as yourself
- not to visit a fortune teller
- to give charity
- not to bear grudges
- not to eat meat with blood in it
- not to cheat other people
- not to tell lies about people
- to respect old people
- not to sow your field with two different types of seed
- to treat people from other countries fairly
