Through oral or written work, children could demonstrate their ability to:

  • retell the stories within the unit of work and identify some Christian beliefs about Jesus and His teachings. (L2, AT1a)
  • describe Jesus' teachings about happiness and the Kingdom of God. (L3, AT1a)
  • suggest meanings of the titles for Jesus, for example, Suffering Servant, Saviour and Victor, and symbols connected with Baptism. (L2, AT1c)
  • make links between the symbols of Baptism and story of Jesus' Baptism. (L3, AT1c)
  • respond sensitively to others' experiences of happiness, suffering and victory. (L2, AT2a)
  • compare their own experiences of happiness, suffering and victory to those of others. (L3, AT2a)
  • respond sensitively to the values expressed in the teachings of Jesus. (L2, AT2c)
  • make links between the values expressed in the teachings of Jesus and their own attitudes or behaviour. (L3, AT2c)
