To introduce one of Jesus' healing miracles.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Happiness. As well as being famous for His teaching, Jesus is also famous for His power over illness and death. The Bible contains many different stories about Jesus healing people and bringing some of them back from the dead. One of the most famous stories is about a little girl.

Share the story of Jairus' daughter with the children.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• talk / write about healing which they have experienced in their lives
• talk / write about Jairus' feelings at different stages of the story
• interview a Christian (doctor) about healing
• attempt to answer the question, 'What is a miracle?'
