Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Jesus the Jew. When Jesus was about thirty, he gave up being a carpenter and became a Rabbi. This is the Hebrew word for 'teacher'.

Use text to inform children about Jesus as a Rabbi.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• interview a modern Rabbi or a modern teacher about his / her work
• list the qualities of a good teacher
• list the good points and bad points of being a teacher
