Lesson

Begin by reviewing what was taught in the previous lesson about Sukkot. The festival of Sukkot ends with another festival, Simchat Torah.

Use video, images, or text to describe the celebration of Simchat Torah.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write down what they have learnt about the Torah
• plan a celebration of their favourite book
• interview a Jewish visitor about Simchat Torah
• write a desciption of Simchat Torah for a younger child
• write about a celebration in which they have taken part
