Up a level

Some Christians use rosary beads to help them pray to Mary, the mother of Jesus. They use them at any time and in any place, in church, at home or even on the bus. They take each bead between their fingers and say a prayer for each one.

When they come to a bead on its own, they often say the prayer which begins 'Our Father, who art in Heaven'. For most other beads they say the 'Hail Mary'.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb
Jesus (bow head)
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
