Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Jesus' last visit to Jerusalem. It is in Jerusalem that Jesus shared his last meal with his friends.

Share with children the story of the Last Supper (Matthew 26:17-30).

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• talk / write about a special meal which they have had
• find out about the Jewish passover meal.
• find out about how Christians remember the Last Supper
• handle artefacts connected with Holy Communion
• write out and discuss the words 'This is my body broken for you'.
