Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson. Inform the children that Jacob had twelve sons. Of them all, his favourite was called Joseph.

Share with children the story of Joseph. Finish at the point when Joseph is sold into slavery.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• do a painting of Joseph in his coat
• talk / write about jealousy
• talk / write about how Joseph must have felt on his way to Egypt
• talk / write about a time when they told a lie
• listen to a song from the musical 'Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat' by Rice and Lloyd Weber.
