To explore the idea of Jesus as a gift to the world.

Lesson

Begin by reviewing what has been taught over the previous weeks. In that time, they have been learning about Jesus as an adult. But Christians believe that Jesus came into the world as a baby.

Recall with pupil's help, the story of the Nativity. Focus on the giving of gifts. Inform them that Christians believe that Jesus was a gift to the world from God.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write about the best gift which they have given / received
• design and make a gift for someone.
