To consider Christian beliefs about Jesus as a healer.

Lesson

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Jesus' power over nature. Christians believe that Jesus' power also includes the ability to heal people.

Share with children the story of the blind beggar (Luke 18:35-43). Stress to the children that the blind beggar wanted to see.

Activity

Following discussion, groups of children could:

• write about a time when they needed help
• read a different healing story
• interview a blind visitor
• use blindfolds to explore being blind

Conclusion

Conclude the lesson with a shared commitment to help one another.
