Jesus - More than a Special person
Aim
To consider the Christian belief that Jesus is God.
Lesson
Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about Jesus. For most Christians, Jesus is more than a special person. He is God. Revise some of the work done last year, exploring Christian beliefs about the nature of God. Most Christians believe that God has power over Nature. In the Bible, there are several stories in which Jesus also displays such power.
Share with children the story of Jesus calming the storm. (Mark 4:35-41)
Activity
Following discussion, groups of children could:
- act out the story for themselves
- read another story in which Jesus displayed His power over nature. (Matthew 21:18-22)
- create or listen to some storm music
- talk about a time when they were frightened by the weather.
