Notes for the Teacher/Leader

These eight assemblies are intended to form a series but you may choose any one to stand alone if you wish. However it is necessary to do the Introductory Story which introduces William.

This series treats 'Worship' as something new in the experience of a child. Most pupils of a young age do not have experience of a church service of worship when they come to school.

In school they come to an Assembly which, by law, should include a daily Collective Act of Worship. Some aspects of 'broadly Christian worship' are introduced in this series through stories about William, a Key Stage 1 child who lives in a single parent home. In William's case he actually lives with his Gran!
