An Introduction to Emma

Emma Hinds, Senior Leader

Hello everybody! Thank you so much for your continued prayer as  I enter into this new position of Senior Leader. I’m so excited for the future of CiST, and my prayer is that I can bring fresh ideas and encouragement to our work as well as continuing to do what we do best: supporting schools with the love of Christ. I’ve been involved in Christian schools work since I was a teenager leading a youth group in the south of England. After a year working as a youth and schools worker in Sheffield for The Pais Project, I moved to Scotland in 2008 to study Theology and the Arts. I moved to Manchester in 10308638_10152142654525875_5929695306107200634_n (1)2014 and I must say, we’ve been enjoying the warm weather!

I am passionate about reaching schools for Jesus and have previously worked with children and young people in several capacities; as a youth worker, a dance instructor, an academic tutor, a theatrical director and even a nursery dance and play leader! I am also passionate about the Arts, and love to find new ways to engage children with the gospel through creative practise. I do creative writing in my spare time and have written a few plays— I love to help young people explore Christianity through drama.

Some Fun Facts about me:

My church: I attend church at CCM:Withington where I am part of the worship team, children’s work team, and I a community group leader.liveloveserve

Favourite bible verse: Romans 8:38-39  –  “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Something you wouldn’t guess: I am gluten and lactose intolerant—so if I ever say no to a nice cup of tea or a biscuit it’s usually because of this! But I love to bake and am often coming up with weird and wonderful recipes to test on my husband!

I hope we will meet soon. In the meantime, I will keep you up to date on our work and what I am getting up to on this blog – as well as posting any important updates and exciting news.

Blessings,

Emma
