Welcome to the Christians in Schools Trust website

We are a Christian schools work charity, working in the borough of Stockport.  We are associated to Scripture Union and work in nursery, primary, secondary and with sixth form too.  You will find the site full of information on how you can get involved, our projects and chaplaincy work plus loads of resources for teachers, schools workers or anyone else who works in the school setting.

Andrew completes the London Marathon to raise funds for Christians in Schools!

On April 13th Andrew took part in his first ever marathon in London.  He successfully completed the race in 4 hours and 20 minutes and even managed to enjoy some of it despite being in agony for the last 7 miles.  He was running the race to raise funds for both Christians in Schools projects and also his own charity – Shine like Stars.  You can still sponsor him at www.my.give.net/andrewsmarathon

It is great to announce that the Trustees are delighted to have appointed Karen Beal to take over from the wonderful work which Sue has been doing.  Karen comes to us from a position with the Girls’ Brigade and after many years of experience in Church Youth and Families work and Children’s work from around the world. She has worked in Schools and Clubs and with people from all walks and backgrounds.

Karen has met the team and also been in to Stockport Academy with Sue to meet some of the members of staff. She writes, ‘I’m really excited about joining the team at CIST and seeing what God has planned for the Trust as we look to the future, building on the great work which has gone before.’

Married to Steve (who is a Chaplain in a large Secondary School) she says her other interests include cooking and reading, film and theatre. And ‘I enjoy giving Kirstie Allsopp a run for her money in the craft department (but I think she’s winning!).’

Karen joins us part time in January transitioning to a more full time roll by Easter. Please pray for her as she takes over this wonderful ministry.
